3. Tap on the three-dot menu and then select the “Restrict” option.

6. Open the Requests tab and then open the message sent by the person.

Method 2 – How to read Instagram messages without being seen by turning OFF Internet?

This is a cheap trick but works very well –

1. Turn off the Wifi/Data connection on your device.
2. Now, open the Instagram app and then read the message sent by the person.
3. Since the app is disconnected from the Internet, it cant send the Seen tick to the DM sender.

One thing to note is that, as soon as you turn on the Internet, the Instagram app connects to the server and sends a seen tick to the person. You can log out of Instagram before turning on the Internet to overcome this situation.

While the Internet is turned OFF – 

1. • Go to the ‘Settings‘ option in the Instagram app.
   • At the end of the page, tap on the Log Out option.
   • Confirm the logout option.
