iPhones to get FaceTime voicemail, live voicemail transcription in iOS 17 1

iOS 17 is bringing iPhones a bunch of new call-dedicated improvements soon, including FaceTime voicemail and live voicemail transcription.

Apple has finally listened to the relentless request of the Apple community to allow FaceTime voicemail on iPhones. This will soon be released via iOS 17. Once available, this will let iPhone users record a video (or just an audio message) and send it when the call recipient misses the FaceTime call.

On the other hand, Apple will also soon roll out a live transcript feature on iPhones using iOS 17. Once available, the devices will be able to display live transcripts while someone is leaving a message or voicemail. These transcripts will be shown on the device screen while simultaneously featuring the caller’s contact card and the Message and Accept buttons.

Aside from these two new features, iOS 17 is also bringing customization dedicated to the Phone app. Called Contact Posters, iOS 17 users should soon be able to create their own posters with customized call card photos, font styles, and backgrounds. iPhone users can also create Contact Posters for other individuals on their contact list, albeit it will turn off the automatic update of the person’s call card.
